How it works

Voyages in Oceanaut

Voyage Management covers the life of a voyage: scheduling it, getting the crew to accept, starting and ending it on board, and the reports filed along the way. Each voyage keeps its passage plan, fuel records and reporting forms together.

The Voyages dashboard shows vessels on a map with their tracks and passage plans, and, where switched on, a live position from AIS data. Sea time for each crew member is built from these voyages.

01

Schedule a voyage on your own form

The voyage form is configurable: vessel, port of departure, start time, expected return, crew, description, standing orders and any fields you add. Scheduled voyages export to Excel or CSV, and a bulk PDF can be requested.

  • Configurable voyage form
  • Standing orders and crew selection
  • Excel, CSV and bulk PDF

02

Crew accept, then the voyage runs

Assigned crew receive a notification and accept or decline. The voyage moves from Scheduled to Started and Ended, through Pending signature if sign-off is required, or to Cancelled.

  • Crew accept or decline
  • Start and end with time zone
  • Scheduled, Started, Ended, Pending signature, Cancelled

03

Passage plans and the voyages map

Attach the passage plan to the voyage. KML files are drawn on the voyages map with the vessel's track; GPX, TDX and TDZ files are kept for download. With AIS data switched on, the vessel's live position is shown.

  • KML shown on the map
  • GPX, TDX and TDZ download
  • Vessel tracks
  • Live position from AIS data, where enabled

04

Fuel consumption by activity

At the end of a voyage, record the fuel used for each operational activity, by fuel type, in tonnes, litres or kilograms. Fuel types and activities are configured by your company, and the record can be made mandatory.

  • Per activity and fuel type
  • MT, L or kg
  • Company-defined fuel types and activities
  • Optional mandatory recording

05

Voyage reporting

File voyage reports on your company's voyage-reporting forms against each voyage, with signatures and PDF download, including from the mobile app and offline. Reminder notifications keep reports on time.

  • Company-defined report forms
  • Signatures and PDF
  • Offline submission

Can voyages run without a connection?

Yes. The mobile app supports offline voyages that are synced manually when a connection is available.

How is sea time calculated?

From the voyages each person sails on, with the start and end times and their role on board.
