About Albatross Marine

Software that starts on the vessel.

Albatross Marine builds software for the people who keep vessels working. We are based in Vancouver, and every product began as a problem someone on our team met on board or in a fleet office.

Why we build it

Safety management, dry docking and engine data are usually spread across spreadsheets, email and paper. That works until an audit, a breakdown or a yard period, when the record someone needs is in the wrong place.

We build tools that keep those records where the crew, the office and the inspector can all reach them, and we write them in the language people use on board.

The executive team

Ishaan Goel, Founder, Albatross Marine

Ishaan Goel

Founder

Ishaan is a former seafarer and naval architect who has delivered 42 newbuilds. Today he manages marine engineering for a working fleet on the British Columbia coast.

His days are the problems Albatross Marine solves: writing dry-dock specifications and running yard tenders, preparing vessels for class and Transport Canada surveys, and tracing diesel, hydraulic and engine-network faults. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and leads product at Albatross Marine, so every feature is shaped by how crews and superintendents actually work.

Varun Goel, Chief Technology Officer, Albatross Marine

Varun Goel

Chief Technology Officer

Varun is a software architect with more than a decade of experience building and scaling production systems. As Chief Technology Officer, he is responsible for the architecture, security and reliability of every Albatross Marine product.

He leads the engineering team behind Oceanaut, Oceanaut Dry Dock and NaviOrca, and sets the standard that runs through all three: software that works offline on board, syncs the moment a vessel reconnects, keeps each client's data separate and secure, and stays quick on a satellite connection.
