Oceanaut · Remote Inspections

One link.
Every record, audit-ready.

Invite a surveyor to a vessel's records with one emailed link. They verify with a one-time code, see eight read-only sections, and lose access on the date you set. No attachments, no binders, no account to create.

How it works

Three steps, a few minutes.

  1. 01

    Invite the surveyor

From the vessel, enter the surveyor's details, choose the crew to share, add instructions and a company representative, and set the expiry date. Confirm with a code sent to your own email.

  2. 02

    They verify and open it

The surveyor gets an email with a unique link. Each time they open it, Oceanaut emails them a one-time code to enter. No Oceanaut account needed.

  3. 03

    Read-only, until it expires

They review the vessel's records in eight read-only sections. You can resend or revoke the invitation, and it expires automatically on the date you set.

What the inspector sees

Eight read-only sections, straight from Oceanaut.

The surveyor sees the vessel's records as your team keeps them in Oceanaut, without being able to change them. Crew details show only the people you chose when you sent the invitation.

Vessel detail

Vessel particulars, with its certificates and documents to view and download.

Crew details

For the crew you choose: certificates, training, sea time and drills attended.

Voyages

Voyage records with the track and the vessel's current location.

Voyage reporting

The reports filed against each voyage.

Drills

Every drill recorded for the vessel.

Audits

Internal and external audits of the safety management system.

Inspections

Inspection records and their findings.

Deficiencies

Each deficiency with its actions, status and comments.

You stay in control

Access that ends when you say.

Every invitation has an expiry date you set, and the surveyor needs a fresh emailed code each time they open it. Resend, revoke or clone invitations, and export the list of who was invited.

  • One-time code emailed on every visit
  • Expiry date chosen by you, then automatic expiry
  • Resend, revoke and clone invitations
  • Export the invitation list to PDF or Excel

Part of Oceanaut

Ready because the records already are.

Remote Inspections works because drills, deficiencies, voyages and crew certificates are already kept in Oceanaut's other modules. Keep the system current and every invitation is ready the day you need it.

Questions about remote inspections.

What is a remote inspection?

A remote inspection or remote audit is one where the inspector reviews a vessel's safety management records without being on board or in your office. Oceanaut Remote Inspections gives the surveyor read-only access to those records through an emailed invitation.

Does the surveyor need an Oceanaut account?

No. The surveyor opens the unique link in the invitation email and enters a one-time code that Oceanaut emails to them. Nothing to install and no account to create.

How long does access last?

Until the expiry date you set on the invitation. You can also revoke it at any time, and the surveyor is told by email that access has ended.

Which records can the surveyor see?

Eight read-only sections for the vessel: vessel detail with certificates and documents, crew details for the crew you choose, voyages, voyage reporting, drills, audits, inspections and deficiencies.

Can the surveyor change anything?

No. Every section is read-only. Certificates and documents can be viewed and downloaded.

Do I need Oceanaut to use Remote Inspections?

Yes. Remote Inspections is part of Oceanaut, so the surveyor sees the records your team already keeps there. There is nothing to prepare or upload separately for the audit.
